Hi, my name is Renée, and this is my blog! I’ll be using this site to share about my experiences with fertility treatments, balancing modern demands with a rural soul, and whatever random reflections come into my head. It’s going to be a mixed bag – welcome!
My hope is to turn this into a place where Christian couples struggling with infertility can find information and encouragement. Since that’s just a one part of my life, I also want to share with people who, like me, feel overburdened by modern living, but aren’t quite ready to abandon their luxury apartment for a yurt somewhere in the Midwest.
Mostly, you’ll find brief updates on my fertility journey, ideas on how to make a 9 to 5 not feel so much like indentured servitude, and a whole range of other tidbits on food and Catholicism (because I’m pretty passionate about those things, though not in that order). I cannot promise that this won’t become a “Mommy Blog” one day. In fact, I hope it does.
Warning: this is a blog written by someone who has absolutely no idea what she’s doing. I’m learning about fertility treatment options acceptable for Catholics as I go, and there’s a lot to unpack. Moreover, after more than 6 years of marriage, I’m still trying to figure out how to make life run smoothly, #adulting. I have the feeling that will be a lifelong lesson. What I’m trying to say is, if you learn anything while on my blog, you’ll be learning it with me, not necessarily from me (does that make sense?)
Why Season of Patience? Because I’m always, always going through “something”. We all are. The last “something” left me at my desk at 4 in the afternoon with my head in my hands asking God, “When is it going to be over?” In His goodness, He answered me: “This is only a season. A season that requires patience, but a season nonetheless”. After pouting a little longer, I said “Fine. I’ll start writing about it. Why not?” So here we go, and thanks for stopping by!
